The Highlands Ranch High School athletic participation fee is set by Douglas County School District.

$200 participation fee per sport/athlete

This participation fee is required for all student-athletes.  This needs to be paid at the time of registration. There is a link at the end of your registration to pay through My School Bucks. Your student will not be cleared to participate if this is not done. If your student-athlete is trying out for a sport that makes cuts, we will automatically process a refund after we receive a final roster. The refund will go back on the card you used.

If your student has been approved by DCSD for the 2021-22 school year Free & Reduced Lunch program, YOU STILL NEED TO GO to My School Bucks and check out. This is where you will sign  waivers to participate. If you do not do this, your child will not be cleared to participate.

The Athletic Fee goes to the District to help offset the cost of operating our sports programs.

**Some sports may require an additional payment for team-associated fees. These fees are IN ADDITION to the DCSD Participation Fee of $200.00**

All student-athletes must be eligible for competition under the policies established by the Colorado High School Activities Association (CHSAA).  These policies can be found on their website at  Please see the DCSD Athletic Code of Conduct Handbook for additional information or contact the Highlands Ranch High School Athletic Director.

The HRHS Athletic Department runs a Weekly Eligibility Report every Thursday morning.  This report determines a student-athlete's eligibility to compete the following week (Monday through Saturday). According to HRHS Athletics, no student is able to compete if they have an F.

In order to become eligible after the Weekly Eligibility Report has been pulled, the student-athlete must bring their failing grade up to a passing grade within their Infinite Campus grade book. They will need to have the teacher email the Athletic Director BEFORE 3:00pm on Friday that their grade improved.
The Athletic Director must approve the changed grade and will notify the coach of the improved grade.

The following passes are accepted for REGULAR season competitions only:

  • Highlands Ranch Student SBA/Activity pass (current school year student ID must be presented)

  • Continental League Pass (current school year only)

  • All student-athletes that are "invited walk-ons" or those committed to participate for an NCAA/NAIA/or interscholastic Junior College sport are honored.
